Looking to refresh your brand without doing a complete overhaul? It’s easier than you think!
There are lots of reasons to do a brand refresh. It could be that your brand is experiencing a lag in sales, or you’re looking to attract a broader audience. Maybe things are just starting to feel stale and you’re ready for a boost. Whatever the reason, a little brand refresh could be just what you need to get things rolling. As a bonus, it won’t take up too much of your time or strain your wallet.
Consider these changes:
Update Your Brand Photography: Your brand photos have many jobs. One is to grab attention and get your audience to take action. On a deeper level, your brand photos help to convey your brand’s values and message. Over time, the effect of the photos you use may lose their impact. Our brains are wired to be stimulated by new information. Accordingly, fresh, new photos could be the change you need to re-engage your audience.
Tweak Your Color Palette: Consider adding a new accent color to your existing color palette. You can even experiment with darkening or lightening the colors in your palette to create a subtle mood shift. Lighten your colors for a lighter, breezier feel, or darken them for a more serious, sophisticated look.
Switch Up Your Fonts: Small changes like choosing a new font for headlines (or a new one for body copy), can be just the kind of adjustment you need to keep things fresh. Just be sure that the fonts you choose work in harmony with each other and the rest of your brand design.
Refine Your Logo: Again, we’re not talking about big changes here. In general, you’ll want to retain any major elements your audience may find familiar. The last thing you want to do is alienate your audience by creating something they don’t recognize. Experiment by making small shifts to what is already there. If you’ve used a designer to create your logo, be sure to consult with them on any changes you want to make, however small.
Update Your Social Media Templates: If you’re using social media to promote your brand, think about making a change to the graphics you use. If you’re using templates, consider changing the placement of text, images, and photos. You can even look for new templates on sites like Creative Market or Etsy.
